The Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, is the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The Collider is composed of 9,600 super magnets which are 100,000 times more powerful than the gravitational pull of the earth. The LHC was designed to smash sub-atomic particles together at the speed of light and then observe what happens. The idea for the CERN facility was born back in 1945, and you can view a historical timeline of CERN here. The LHC started up in September 2008 and is funded by over 8,000 physicists from 85 countries, as well as hundreds of universities. The CERN facility is located underneath the French and Swiss borders near Geneva, Switzerland. It is buried at a depth of 575 feet, and runs for 17 miles. It was built by the European Council for Nuclear Research (hence the name CERN). It's main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research. Here's a fun fact, CERN is also the birthplace of the World Wide Web.
The point of the LHC is to conduct and monitor super high-speed collisions between particles, and gather and analyze the data in order to learn the nature of matter and of the universe itself. Scientists hope to learn more about the actual mass of particles and the nature of dark mater and how many dimensions there are. They are conducting a Big Bang project where they hope to recreate the universe's Big Bang particle. It's discoveries include the detection of the once-elusive Higgs Boson (or the God particle - The Higgs acts as a field through which all particles are dragged through and their mass is attained from) and the creation of antimatter.
But enough of the technical information, as we are more concerned with its spiritual implications. Looking at it's logo, we can find 3 sixes behind the letters CERN. There is a statue dedicated at its opening, this statue is of the Indian goddess Shiva (also known as the dark one) performing the dance of destruction. CERN experiments were inspired by Nikola Tesla's findings. He is rumored to have received his inspiration by channeling demons. CERN is looking for the "glue" that holds everything together and by doing so, they hope to prove that God doesn't exist. By pulling antimatter, they are bringing in dark matter from another dimension. Dark matter is where paranormal activity resides. The fear with their experiments is that they can generate a black hole, or open a portal and bring in an entity from another dimension. The facility itself is located on the ancient ruins of Apollo, also believed to be a gateway to the underworld. Apollo - this is where we get the name Apollyon as recorded in Revelation ch. 9 - a star/angel falls from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit... and he opens the bottomless pit... and they had a king over them, which is the Angel of the bottomless pit... his name... Apollyon. So the question remains, Could CERN be the gateway that is described in Revelation as the bottomless pit, that the Angel unlocks and releases the Beast???
Finally, does the Bible contain a hint regarding CERN? Interestingly enough, in the English translation of the Septuagint, by Sir Lancelot C. L. Brenton 1851, in the seventh verse of the seventh chapter of Daniel, in a passage that we believe is referring to the Beast that is to come, we find:
Daniel 7:7
"7 After this one I looked, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and exceedingly strong, and its teeth were of iron; devouring and crushing to atoms, and it trampled the remainder with its feet: and it was altogether different from the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns."
Is not the Large Hadron Collider a giant atom smasher that crushes atoms?
