In response to his disciples asking him "what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?" Jesus spends an entire chapter in Matthew covering these things, but in particular we look in chapter 24.
Matthew 24:37-39 (KJV)
37 But as the days of No'e were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that No'e entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
So in order to understand the future, we must look to the past....
I have always been taught that people were just super busy, and it was business as usual for them right up until the flood came. I'm going to suggest that there was more going on here than the idea of business as usual...
The marriages being spoken of here concern unholy unions of women and Angels.
Did you read that right? I submit to you that the days of Noah, and the activities described, had everything to do with the flesh, and satisfying the flesh. Right up to and including unions between women and Angels. Are you not sure if this is a thing or can really happen? Have you heard of "ghost sex?" The technical term given to this activity is called Spectrophilia. Many online communities exist, and even some stars like have come forward and claimed to have relations with ghosts. The reality of this is that these ghosts are actually demons, and the people who claim to have had these relations, have actually had them with demonic entities.
Go back to Genesis chapter 6- "...the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives..." The "sons of God" is translated in Hebrew as Ben-Elohiym, or angels. We pick up the narrative in the extra-biblical book of Enoch, where it is described that 200 "watcher-class" angels made an oath between themselves to violate the natural reproduction order of God. They seduced the women by trading information that man was never supposed to know such as charms, enchantments, cutting of roots, weapons of war, etc. The outcome of these unholy unions were giants: half men, and half angels (Nephilim). These giants consumed everything. Then they began to consume man.
I am going to suggest that these abominations, and the violence within the earth, along with the continual wickedness of men's hearts, was the reason that God had to wipe the slate clean.
The Nephilim (giants) were destroyed in the flood, but due to them being hybrid beings, half angel and half human, their spirits remained. We know those spirits today as demons.
Now, fast forward to today. We know that one of the markers for Jesus' return is that it will be like the days of Noah. Are we there yet?
